As Tottenham Hotspur’s press office reports as official news in football today, Spurs fired Nuno Espirito Santo, their head coach.
Nuno Espirito Santo signed a 2-year contract with Tottenham until 2023 just back in June, replacing Jose Mourinho as the head coach, as we made an accurate football prediction that he would.
But now, already, the Portuguese manager’s spell at the helm of the Spurs is at an end. This means that Santo has sadly only lasted 4 months as the coach of Tottenham Hotspur.
Official News in Football Today – Spurs Fired Nuno Espirito Santo
Tottenham dismissed Nuno Espirito Santo as their first team manager today, with an eye on Antonio Conte as his replacement.
Santo, as well as his coaching staff Ian Cathro, Rui Barbosa and Antonio Dias have been relieved of their duties.
“I know how much Nuno wanted to succeed and I regret that we have had to take the decision. Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here,” managing director Fabio Paratici said in a statement.
“We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future,” Paratici then concluded.
Under Espirito Santo’s command Tottenham Hotspur have only managed to get 15 points in 10 Premier League fixtures. This means they are currently placing 8th in the English league standings.
