Newcastle United named their first manager in a new era (the football news) – Eddie Howe, who’s an ex-Bournemouth head coach. After they dismissed loyalist Steve Bruce in a brutal but official football transfer, Eddie Howe is the new Newcastle manager.
Newcastle United’s hunt for a new head coach has been a saga of transfer rumours, starting with Antonio Conte.
And before Emery rebuffed the Premier League strugglers, other candidates included Brendan Rodgers, Paulo Fonseca, Lucien Favre, and Roberto Martinez.
Official Football Transfer – Eddie Howe Is the New Newcastle Manager
Now though, this headhunting saga has come to a conclusion with the appointment of Eddie Howe on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Newcastle have declared former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as Steve Bruce’s replacement on Monday.
The club confirmed this news after watching Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
Eddie Howe has remained unemployed since leaving Bournemouth following their relegation to the Championship in August 2020.
But as for his experience, Howe has coached 545 games in his career, winning 228 of them. He’s won these largely with Bournemouth and pulled a stopover at Burnley in between.
In the Premier League, he won 56 of 190 games. His best season came in 2016-17, when Bournemouth finished ninth with 46 points.
