Captain Giorgio Chiellini has signed a new contract with Juventus after becoming a free agent at the end of June. So, in this summer transfer window, there will be no football transfer for Chiellini as Juventus re-sign him yesterday.
Giorgio Chiellini has re-signed with Juventus, as everyone expected, following the announcement of a new two-year contract.
Chiellini, 36, officially left Juve when his previous contract expired in the summer this year after 17 years with them. Technically, the club’s captain saw himself become a free agent at the end of June, on June 30th, 2021.
Even then, his agent called potential retirement talk following Euro 2020 success “madness”.
But the agent also suggested Chiellini was open to hearing offers from clubs other than Juventus.
No Football Transfer for Chiellini as Juventus Re-sign Him
Giorgio Chiellini will soon begin his 17th season with Juventus because he has agreed to a new contract extension yesterday.
This agreement also suggests that Chiellini intends to play for Italy at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
This means the veteran has decided to stay with the Azzurri after Euro 2020, where the captain’s tricks earned praise.
