Mourinho Defends Nuno against Tottenham’s Dismissal of Him
But Jose Mourinho has questioned his former club Tottenham Hotspur’s decision to replace Nuno Espirito Santo with Antonio Conte.
Mourinho spoke to Sky Sports reporters about whether Spurs recruiting Conte would make them Tottenham stronger, claim beIN Sports:
“He is a good coach, but Nuno Espirito Santo is also a very good coach who had done well for four or five years at Wolverhampton. I can’t say that Tottenham has a good coach now, they had one before. They have it now and they already had it.”
Conte, like Mourinho, has past success in English football, having led Chelsea to Premier League. He even got them FA Cup titles in his two seasons in command.
Meanwhile, Mourinho and Conte clashed multiple times in the Premier League. That was when the former Italy manager was at Stamford Bridge and the Portuguese was in charge of Manchester United.
