Chelsea are one of the ‘Big Six’ of the English Premier League to join Super League as a Founding Club. And their head coach Thomas Tuchel reacts to Super League now.
Tuchel is a recent hire for Chelsea- he replaced Frank Lampard just two months back, as January ended. This may be why he may be playing safe and sticking to Chelsea management’s script about the ESL.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said today that he was involved in the Premier League side’s decision-making. The official club website of Chelsea has published his comments on the move.
As Thomas Tuchel reacts to Super League, he emphasizes that he trusts the club to make the right decision.
The proposal for the largely closed league has been widely condemned by players, fans and football authorities. So much so, that even coaches of Premier League and other top-flights, like Ligue 1 and Bundesliga, haven’t held back.
Tuchel himself seemed uncomfortable with Chelsea’s decision, as he was quick to switch topics.
He was apparently eager to avoid any distractions within his Chelsea camp as they seek to finish the season well.
A domestic victory against Brighton would mean they get to finish third in the Premier League.
Also, Chelsea are still fighting to lift the FA Cup and Champions League trophies.
They made it to the semi-final of the Champions League after beating FC Porto in a two-legged semi-final.
