Mohamed Salah has “extra inspiration” for Liverpool’s match against Real Madrid, he has revealed.
It will be the two teams’ first Champions League match following their 2018 final loss.
Liverpool will meet Zinedine Zidane’s side in the quarter-final on Tuesday.
The last match included Sergio Ramos’ catch on Salah, Loris Karius’ errors, and Gareth Bale’s spectacular overhead kick. So, it was an extremely eventful game in Kyiv.
Particularly, though, Ramos knocked Salah out of 2018 final with a shoulder injury.
Liverpool’s leading goal scorer talked in an interview with Marca.
And Salah played down talk of avenging Ramos. Yet he acknowledged that the events of that night had stayed with him.
Salah has extra inspiration, and said: “Let’s just say that I have special motivation to win the tie and go through to the semi-finals. What’s going to happen now isn’t going to change the result of the final in Kyiv. That’s in the past.”
