Real Madrid vs Liverpool – Predicted Line-ups

For the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, Liverpool will again clash with Real Madrid. They are set to play at Liverpool’s home pitch, kicking off at 12:30 AM IST on April 15th. As the two teams gear up for the match, here are the Real Madrid vs Liverpool predicted line-ups.

Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 in the first leg.

But, for tonight’s Champions League quarter-final second-leg clash at Anfield, Liverpool and Real Madrid both have key players missing.

What will each of their line-ups look like? We bring you the experts’ guess.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool Predicted Line-ups:

Liverpool:

Liverpool are missing their centre-back trio – Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip. These three have been prey to the recent injury crisis that Liverpool felt in its defence, especially.

Jordan Henderson also remains sidelined, meaning that the Reds’ midfield is lacking options. Jurgen Klopp will start with either James Milner or Thiago Alcantara in the midfield.

Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane, the latter being rested after playing Aston Villa, are in the clear to play.

So, Liverpool’s probable line-up is:

Starting XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Thiago; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Real Madrid:

Meanwhile, Real Madrid also suffered somewhat of an injury crisis. Raphael Varane and captain Sergio Ramos both tested positive for coronavirus.

The captain contracted it just yesterday, as reports broke out, and so must be ruled out for ten days. Fans can also expect Varane to be absent and in self-isolation.

Also missing is Lucas Vazquez. The right-back has recently been standing in for the injured Dani Carvajal.

However, now, Vazquez was not part of the 21-player squad which Real announced on Monday will fly out to Anfield. The list also obviously omits Carvajal.

Carvajal’s replacement Vazquez has himself been replaced by young, reserve midfielder Marvin in the flying list.

Also, Eden Hazard is still indisposed due to a groin problem.

So, the Real squad to begin the match may look like this:

Starting XI (4-3-3): Courtois; Odriozola, Nacho, Militao, Mendy; Casemiro, Kroos, Modric; Asensio, Benzema, Vinicius Jr
