PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino is glad that Neymar and Angel Di Maria are returning. But while they are likely set to play PSG vs Bayern, Pochettino gives a Marquinhos update.
PSG will host Bayern Munich at the Parc the Princes tomorrow to play the Champions League quarterfinal second leg. And while either sides deliberate over their line-ups, one player is in question – Marquinhos.
PSG vs Bayern- Pochettino gives a Marquinhos update:
Marquinhos injured himself in the first leg between the two teams. Even as PSG won 3-2, Marquinhos limped off Allianz Arena mid-game. He scored the Parisians’ second goal but soon after, he had to quit the pitch, injured.
Pochettino was asked if the Brazilian will feature in the return fixture in the French capital.
And the head coach told a pre-match press conference (via Goal): “We don’t know yet. We will make a decision tomorrow.”
But while the player certainly won’t start for PSG, he may be on the bench. So, he may get some game time in as a substitute.
Pochettino said: “In principle, he could be part of the group. Of course, he won’t be able to start the match, but he could be on the bench.”
However, PSG boss Pochettino hinted that they may also skip the game.
“In principle we haven’t decided on the team. It would be difficult for Marco Verratti to start and, for Alessandro Florenzi, we will also see how he is tomorrow,” Pochettino added.
