Premier League Struck by Four More COVID-19 Cases in Their Third Round of Testing

The English Premier League confirms another four players and members of staff tested positive for COVID-19.

These tests were identified in the third round, on May 25 and 26, when swabs were given to 1,008 individuals.

“Players or Club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days,” read a statement say Football Italia. “For the fourth round of testing, the number of tests available to each club will be increased from 50 to 60.”

These four positive cases come from three clubs in the league. They follow the six positives in Round 1 from three clubs in 748 tests two positive ones from two clubs in 996 tests in the second round.

There is now a total of 12 positive cases of coronavirus in the Premier League, following three test rounds.

The mandatory quarantine is 14 days for Italian players or Club employees who test positive.
