Newcastle are interested in signing Jeff Hendrick this summer.
The 28-year-old freelance agent is a priority for the Magpies, according to Daily Mirror.
Burnley recently released Hendrick and he has 3 goals, so far this season 2 are assisting his mark.
The Republic of Ireland International has an abundance of Premier League experience (122 appearances) and if needed, he can play multiple roles. Hendrick can play as a midfielder on the right, an attacking midfielder and a central midfielder.
The Magpies are in the middle of a takeover and their squad is expected to improve tremendously once the formalities have been completed. Gathering up bargains like Hendrick to beef up their squad now will enable him to later cherry-pick top-class players for their starting line-up.
There is no reason why the midfielder would not join them if Newcastle offers him a lucrative deal. In addition, Newcastle’s future is also an attractive prospect under its potential new owners.
Signing a player with Hendrick’s versatility through injuries and rotations would be a benefit for Newcastle.
It will be interesting to see if Newcastle is offering a bid to the player. Hendrick could prove a good squad player for Steve Bruce’s side on a free transfer.
