Mourinho Discusses Benzema and Returning to Work

Jose Mourinho, the former head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, has finally started giving interviews again. Mourinho discusses Benzema and returning to work with Times Magazine.

He has offered his opinion on which striker he has played with is the closest to Harry Kane.

“The way Harry Kane is playing now, doing the movements he does when was the last time I had a striker doing this? Benzema!” Mourinho said.

Mourinho thus drew comparisons between Kane and Karim Benzema, whom he managed at Real Madrid, in the interview with the Times.

“Because Didier Drogba was not that, Ibrahimovic was not that, Lukaku was not that. So sometimes the statistics don’t fit into the reality,” he added.

Mourinho was fired as Tottenham’s head coach six days before the Carabao Cup final.

However, in his time with Spurs, he established a strong working partnership with Kane during his time at the club.

Mourinho on a Comeback

Now, with Times, Mourinho discusses Benzema, and returning to work as well.

Mourinho said about making his football comeback: “I will wait for the right club and culture. I’m on holiday”

The former Tottenham head coach has responded to a question about when he plans to return to coaching. Tottenham just gave him the sack.

“I don’t have any plans. I’m living a normal life, I feel fresh, relaxed. I am on holiday. Now I have more time to work on my mistakes, analyze everything,” the 58-year-old Portuguese told Times Magazine.

“I will wait before returning to football. I will wait not only for the right club, but also for the right culture. Maybe a return next season will be premature. We will see.”
