Manchester United Fans Protest Outside Old Trafford

Hundreds of Manchester United supporters gathered on Saturday to protest over the club’s involvement in the European Super League. The United homestead thus saw Manchester United fans protest outside Old Trafford against the Glazer family’s ownership.

Super League Failure

Co-chairman Joel Glazer wrote an apology letter to fans after United withdrew its participation in ESL as a Founding Member.

Moreover, Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward handed in his resignation.

However, United fans actually want the Glazer family, who own Manchester United, to sell the club.

They are discontent with the Glazers’ ownership of the club since 2005, which sunk the then-debt-free club into burgeoning debt.

A large group of United supporters assembled by the Trinity Statue. They set off flares, as well as hung banners and scarves outside Old Trafford.

Many protesters sported the green and gold colours which have become synonymous with fan protests against the Glazers since 2005.

Prior to the protest, United supporters’ groups urged fans via social media to wear masks and comply with health protocols.

This is the second time this week that United fans have protested publicly to get the #GlazersOut. On Thursday, a small group of supporters broke into the club’s Carrington reception and training ground. They then silently held up banners on the pitch.
