It is confirmed that Manchester United has failed to extend Shanghai Shenhua’s loan term to Odion Ighalo.
With the Nigerian scoring four goals from eight appearances since his January arrival, United was keen to retain his services until the end of the campaign.
The former Watford man himself grew up as a United supporter. He has previously acknowledged that he too wanted to spend as much time as possible at Old Trafford.
It was reported over the weekend that the Premier League giants were likely to retain the 30-year-old for the remainder of 2020, on condition that the player signed a new deal with his parent club.
The Sun says, however, that a fresh deal has not been finalized by the respective teams, leaving Ighalo to return to China.
