Liverpool should hope to receive a much-needed cash injection via their player Danny Ings.
If Manchester City’s pursuit of Ings is fruitful this summer, the Reds stand to benefit from his sale.
According to the Mirror, when they allowed him to leave for Southampton, the Reds placed a 20% sell-on clause in Ings’s contract.
So now, they are in line for a financial windfall if their former player ends up at City. The club want him replacing Sergio Aguero at the Etihad.
Ings would not demand a nine-figure fee like his Dortmund equivalent.
Still, City would be willing to pay a significant sum to procure his services.
In this way, Liverpool would stand to benefit directly from such a contract if it went through.
