Jordan Henderson acknowledges that the pain of losing finals in major tournaments has helped to feed Liverpool’s hunger to get back on the trophy track.
The Reds captain said to the club’s official website: “All those things you learn, that gives you even more-hunger to get things right and to improve.
“Not only the final of the 2018 Champions League, but the previous finals over the years in which we participated – the final of the Europa League in Sevilla, the final of the League Cup that we lost to Manchester City.
“That was a big factor.”
He talks about how Liverpool has always looked at defeat for inspiration: “Every time we’ve faced these struggles, we’ve bounced back in a really good way.
“It was just a matter of continuing to do that, and we knew the time would come when we could win something. Luckily, it came last year.”
Now, everyone at Anfield is again determined to set up another dynasty, an era full of more trophies.
