Harry Kane Should Resume Playing Football, but Slowly

Since January, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane has been side-lined following surgery on a broken hamstring suffered in the New Year’s Day loss at Southampton.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus pandemic forced a temporary suspension of the Premier League season which has allowed Kane to recover without missing the rest of the season.

Now that Kane is ready to play again just as Tottenham prepares to return to action at the Premier League, Jose Mourinho has been warned not to risk the fitness of Harry Kane.

On June 19, Tottenham will restart their campaign with a vital game against Manchester United, a game that many expect Kane to start in the table with north London currently eighth.

But former goalkeeper Paul Robinson has urged for caution on whether Kane will start each game as clubs face a congested list of fixtures.

“You have to worry if Harry Kane can play two or three games a week, if he can play 90 minutes on a Saturday and then wait again for another 90 minutes of play on the following Saturday,” Paul Robinson told Sky Sports News exclusively.

He went on: “Managers would have to be very conscious and mindful of how they handle the health, injuries and team rotation of their players.

“Squad rotation in particular will be massive with the amount of games in the next three to four weeks-training will be limited and it’ll be all about preparation and rehabilitation.”
