Forward Sergio Agüero has decided to exit at the end of the season. And Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has commented on Agüero’s decision to leave the club.
“There are still two months ahead of us working together,” said the coach to Sky Sports. “In training today, I saw how good he is and how much he gives back.”
“Sergio is irreplaceable,” Guardiola has commented on Agüero’s decision to leave.
“From a statistical point of view, there may be a replacement for him, but when a player has 360 games and 250-plus goals and numerous titles, it’s not easy to find a replacement for him”
“He is a legend, the best forward that ever played for this club. He is irreplaceable in the hearts and souls of our fans, the players he has played with, the coaches he has worked with,” he continued in praise of him.
“He is a great man and if he is still only looking forward, he can extend his career by 2, 3, 5 years.”
He added: “I think he will still score some interesting goals this season. Alas, he missed a year. I won’t be believed because we played successfully, but we missed him at times.
“He helped the club to reach the next level. That’s why everyone in the team and the fans will always be grateful to him.”
