Valencia’s defender Jose Luis Gaya recently acknowledged that he was not allowed to talk about his team-mate Ferran Torres, but personally wants to see him in the Mestalla for a while more.
“I was where he was, I’m not in his mind, but I hope he’s staying with us,” the full-back announced to Movistar. Despite growing curiosity in the signature of Torres, Gaya shared his intention to continue lining up alongside with team mate.
Torres has experienced a good 2019-20 season, scoring six goals in 35 games before the coronavirus epidemic put on hold during the Liga season. But his existence remains unclear beyond the season.
Previously, Spain’s defender was a choice for Real Madrid, but he refused in favour of trying to improve his skills in Valencia. “Yes, interest was there, but I was too young and decided to stay there,” he revealed.
Following their controversial Champions League game against Atalanta at the beginning of the epidemic, Gaya was one of the Valencia players to test positive for Covid-19.
After completing a full recovery, he claims that the Spanish authorities should avoid the example established in France and complete La Liga’s remaining rounds in 2019–20.
