Despite their winning the Serie A title under his leadership, Antonio Conte may leave Inter in the next 48 hours.
Conte took charge as the Nerazzurri head coach in the summer of 2019. And he led the club to the Serie A title, their first after 11 seasons, at the second attempt.
However, all is not well in the coach’s relationship with management, apparently. And this may compel Conte to leave Inter despite his recent extravagant success with them.
The problem is that the sides have different views on the development of the club.
The management believes that in the current climate it will be impossible to not reduce the players’ wages by 15-20%.
Moreover, for the management, reinforcements, through transferring in new players, are also in question.
However, Conte is unwilling to operate under such conditions. Plus, he does not see a future for this team without new players.
So, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the two sides have resolved the issue by agreeing that Conte may leave.
The publication claims that, on that note, the two sides shook hands and parted as friends.
Conte’s resignation will be officially announced in the next 48 hours. Essentially, Antonio Conte may leave Inter in the next 48 hours despite having just won a title for them.
Max Allegri and Maurizio Sarri are among the names that the media link with the job.
