Blatter Banned Again

FIFA Ban Sepp Blatter for Six Years

Former FIFA chief Sepp Blatter has been banned from football again.

This time, the second time, he’s been banned for six years and eight months.

The ban was imposed after repeated violations of FIFA’s ethics code, according to the sport’s worldwide governing body.

It will take effect when the current suspension expires in October, according to FIFA.

The organization’s former secretary general, Jérôme Valcke, has also been suspended for the same amount of time.

FIFA announced that both men have also been fined 1 million Swiss francs (approximately £780,000).

A statement from FIFA read: “The investigations into Messrs Blatter and Valcke covered various charges, in particular concerning bonus payments in relation to FIFA competitions that were paid to top FIFA management officials, various amendments and extensions of employment contracts, as well as reimbursement by FIFA of private legal costs in the case of Mr. Valcke.”
