Atalanta’s left-back Robin Gosens has revealed that his ‘childhood dream’ is to play for Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga.
“It would be a dream,” he told ZDF. “Indeed, it’s my dream to play in the Bundesliga. Maybe it’s not something that will happen right now but doing it with Schalke 04 is a childhood dream of mine.”
President Antonio Percassi can set a price tag of around €30 m for his wingback. However, Schalke is not expected to have the resources to take him away from Orobici in the pending transfer market.
Gosens moved to Holland in July 2012, leaving Vfl Rhede and transferring to Vitesse Arnhem. After five years in Dutch soccer and spells at FC Dordrecht and Heracles Almelo, the defender was brought to Bergamo for €900,000 in July 2017.
The 25-year-old helped La Dea to be fourth in Serie A and quarter-finals in the Champions League this term, but the German said he’d love to be back home one day.
