Arsenal and Alexandre Lacazette’s Relationship on Thin Ice after Second Offence

Arsenal was reported to have been reconsidering the future of Alexandre Lacazette, after the striker was caught inhaling nitrous oxide for the second time in less than two years.

The Daily Mail argues that reports plunged the Frenchman’s future into even more uncertainty, with negotiations frozen about a new deal at the Emirate Stadium.

The 28-year-old forward’s contract will not expire until 2022, but sources have indicated that Arsenal would rather unload him this summer than risk losing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners made a statement on Sunday confirming that they “seriously” accepted the allegations against Lacazette’s behaviour and that they would deal with the matter internally.

Lacazette was warned of a similar occurrence 18 months earlier and is now facing more disciplinary action following his most recent transgression.

Lacazette scored nine goals in 26 appearances at all of the Arsenal competitions this season.
