Van de Beek’s Agent on Ronaldo’s United Comeback: Bad News for Us

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek’s agent admits Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to United was “bad news” for his client.

Despite transfer rumours, Donny and his agent, Guido Albers, maintained faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s word, promising more game time.

But Ronaldo’s coming back to the club can only mean even less playing time for midfielder Donny van de Beek.

“Cristiano arrived on Friday which we knew was bad news for us,” agent Albers said, as per Manchester Evening News.

Van de Beek’s agent continued: “Pogba plays on the left and with Cristiano’s arrival it means another extra player in midfield with Pogba moving away from the left.

“We talked to Solskjaer and the board. We even took the initiative to find another club and our search ended up at Everton but eventually we received a call from the club who told us the transfer was out of the question.

“The perspective now is that we stated that Donny is not a Carabao or FA Cup player. He went to England to play in the Premier League.

“I have full expectations that Donny will get his chance now – he worked extremely hard all summer.

“He is totally ready.”

Buffon: Ronaldo Thinks about Himself a Lot

Former Juventus goalkeeper, and Ronaldo’s former teammate there, Gianluigi Buffon has also commented on Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Manchester United.

“I don’t think the fans should be surprised,” Gigi told the press, and Goal reports. “He has the reputation of a great professional who thinks about himself a lot and he has every reason to do so.

“In these three years [at Juventus] he has contributed with great performances and scored many goals. I don’t see anything illogical in his choice to leave.

“Juve are in a transition period now. You have to pay when things like these happen.”
