Manchester United have reportedly spoken with the team of agents representing Ousmane Dembele about the Barcelona attacker’s future. El Nacional informs readers that Manchester United have made contact, over Dembele’s football transfer, with his representatives.
Ousmane Dembele has seen an unfortunate plague of injuries since joining Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund back in August 2017.
Still, the former Rennes youth player has made 118 appearances for Ronald Koeman’s side in all competitions. And he has, thus far, scored 30 goals and assisted on 21 others.
But the 24-year-old has yet to play even once for the Catalan giants this season due to his ongoing injuries.
And as such, there is still speculation surrounding the Frenchman, whose current Barcelona contract is going to expire next June.
Manchester United Made Contact over Dembele’s Football Transfer
As things stand, Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele would be free to speak with Manchester United in January. The two parties could arrive at a pre-contract arrangement about a move to Old Trafford at the end of June.
In fact, the 20-time English champions “have already contacted” the France international’s agents to begin “negotiating his future”.
They have been pursuing the Barcelona man for months now, with the football transfer news first cropping up in May.
On the other hand, Barcelona are allegedly in talks with the attacker about a new contract. Indeed, the club is keen to keep him at Camp Nou for the long term.
