Lionel Messi Fans Label an Argentinian DJ a Murderer for “Infecting” Him

After the superstar missed beating Vannes in the Coup de France (read in football today) due to his returning a positive test result for COVID-19, Lionel Messi fans label an Argentinian DJ a murderer for “infecting” him with the deadly coronavirus when his fellow countryman attended his performance recently.

Fer Palacio has denied accusations he infected Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi with COVID-19 after fans’ abuse on social media.

PSG have confirmed that Messi is one of four first-team players who tested positive for coronavirus during the Christmas break.

The 34-year-old has already had to extend his stay in his native Rosario as he follows self-isolation protocols from there.

But now, a DJ from Argentina, where Lionel Messi enjoyed his Christmas holidays, is social media trolls’ target of abuse.

Messi attended a number of parties in Argentina over the festive period. One of these was a New Year’s Eve bash at which he invited Argentinian DJ Fer Palacio to perform.

Palacio even posted a picture on Instagram (the football news) posing with Messi at that very party last week.

The DJ’s awestruck caption read: “I got the greatest to dance. Thanks to all the Messi family for the invitation.”

But because of this innocent picture, ironically, the 31-year-old has become the subject of abusive messages from Messi fans online.

Following Messi’s positive Covid-19 test, some supporters suggested – unfounded suggestions – he is the man responsible for the PSG forward’s diagnosis.

And now, Palacio has come forward to set the record straight – that he did not pass the virus on to Messi. He even offered up video evidence of his own negative Covid-19 test.

“I am a trend on Twitter because Messi tested positive for Covid-19,” he said on Instagram. “They relate this to me saying that I infected him. They have even called me ‘murderer.’

“I have a lot of very bad private messages. Yesterday I got tested because I have to travel to Uruguay and I do not have Covid-19.”
