A former Paris Saint-Germain head coach believes Kylian Mbappe is the one to take over from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Meanwhile, a former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder hopes that the young, 22-year-old Frenchman will stay at the club. Laurent Blanc and Jerome Rothen Praise Kylian Mbappe
Laurent Blanc: He Is Still Young but Has Already Done a Lot
As Foot Mercato reports, Laurent Blanc has discussed PSG’s star boy, striker Kylian Mbappe.
And the former PSG coach said: “We are talking about 22-year-old boy. He is still young but has already done a lot and I think he can still improve.
“Everyone’s saying he still has some progress to make, even if he’s very strong now.
Blanc continued to say: “I think there are two players who have marked a decade, even more than a decade of football – Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, of course. Unfortunately, they are getting older.
I think Kylian is the one to replace these players.”
Jerome Rothen: Kylian Is the Player Who Represents PSG Best Today
22-year-old Mbappe’s contract expires next summer. And while the French youngster remains in doubt whether he should sign the renewal, ex-PSG player Rothen has spoken up.
Despite the interest Real Madrid are showing in the recent years (football transfer news), Rothen believes Mbappe should stay put.
“It’s not just his age, it’s also the club’s ability to be up to it. It’s not just his name,” Rothen said, AS reports.
He then praised him: “Kylian is the player who represents PSG best today, the one who makes the biggest difference and the one who makes you win important games. The project is based on him.
“They [PSG bosses] have to show Mbappe and his entourage that the project revolves around him – not the others. Messi is still Messi, of course, but today we see that he can disappear for 20 or 30 minutes during the game.”
“I am not sure that PSG can sign the renewal,” Rothen then postulated. “We know he hasn’t signed an extension yet and his future, perhaps, lies with Real Madrid but…there is still hope.”
