Jurgen Klopp, the Reds’ manager, talked about how Liverpool seemed to have put a lot in for Thursday night’s victory.

“No problem with that, that’s the Premier League,” Klopp told Liverpool’s official website. “The opponent is obviously fighting for staying in the league, put everything in, threw everything on the pitch, had a very defensive organisation, went 1-0 up – so this is the recipe for a difficult game. But we still won it – absolutely deserved and that’s it pretty much.”

Klopp remarked about the third and final goal yesterday: “Absolutely. I thought it was the best long ball we played today! Absolutely crazy goal. His shooting technique is really different level and really cool to watch. In a situation like that, having the positivity and optimism to do it is, again, the basis for these kind of goals. So, well done.”

Also, Trent Alexander-Arnold himself, in talks with BT Sport, discussed his goal which sealed last night’s match for Liverpool.

“I’ve been waiting for that for five years, waiting to hit it clean like that,” Alexander-Arnold discussed the top-corner goal.

He continued: “I’ve had a few from the edge of the box … I’ve caught that one sweet and it’s just nestled in the top corner.”

The England full-back then went on to say that he and his teammates had done their best to ignore the possible positive COVID tests at the club because for Liverpool, games will come thick and fast over Christmas.

“We’re focusing on our football until [someone tells us] otherwise. We’ll be in there every day, recovery again tomorrow and make sure we are fit for Sunday,” Alexander-Arnold said.

“We’ve got a big game, going down to Tottenham – it’ll be an interesting one but all we can do is focus on that and prepare for the game.”
