ISL Football Results – Jamshedpur Earned a Narrow 1-0 Win Over SCEB

A late strike by Jamshedpur’s Ishan Pandita sunk struggling SC East Bengal in the Indian Super League here on Tuesday. So, in last night’s ISL football results, Jamshedpur earned a narrow 1-0 win over SCEB.

In other words, interim manager Renedy Singh’s Indian football players remain without a single win in this 2021-22 ISL season.

At the same time, yesterday’s result allowed Owen Coyle’s men to leapfrog the competition. They have now reached first place in the points table with 19 points.

And it was Pandita who slotted in the match-maker, the deciding goal as late as the in 88th minute. His late goal with a towering header secured three points for Jamshedpur FC on Tuesday night in the ISL.

The early exchanges saw both teams create half chances as little separated either team’s performances.

Arindam Bhattacharja sprang into action in the 27th minute after Murray found space behind the defensive line. And the goalkeeper did well to leave the box and make the clearance.

Beside this, no major scoring chances fell to either team until the half-hour mark.

Boris Singh had a good chance to open the scoring in the final stages of the first half. The winger found himself unmarked inside the box but his header was disappointing and went way above the crossbar.

So, despite dominating possession and creating more attacking opportunities, JFC couldn’t score as the break arrived on a scoreless deadlock.

The Men of Steel then started the second half stronger, with Jordan Murray hitting the crossbar with a looping header.

Darren Sidoel had to replace influential defender Adil Khan just before the hour mark due to an injury.

Arindam then saved another Murray shot, parrying the ball away with a strong right hand. The last 15-minutes saw JFC attack with more intensity as Murray was again on target in the 85th minute. However, his right-footed shot lacked the power to beat the SCEB custodian.

Eventually though, it was Ishan Pandita who scored a late goal to break SCEB fans’ hearts. The striker scored with a precise header after meeting with Greg Stewart’s corner.
