Inter have a back-up player ready if Christian Eriksen is unable to continue his Serie A career following heart surgery. Inter may replace Eriksen with a Manchester United player after his Euro 2020 scare potentially disallows him from playing again.
So, god forbid Eriksen cannot resume his career post-recovery, Inter may request Donny van de Beek on loan from United.
Cristian Eriksen collapsed from a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s first Euro 2020 game against Finland.
He is in recovery and in uncertain condition health-wise, which means his playing career is a question for now.
And, even if he were to ever play again, Eriksen needs an ICD to help regulate his heart rhythm.
Inter May Replace Eriksen with a Manchester United Player after His Euro 2020 Scare
And now, in some engaging transfer news, Manchester United player Donny van de Beek may replace Eriksen at Inter.
Last summer, the 24-year-old Dutchman moved from Ajax to Manchester United for €39 million. However, he failed to make an impact at Old Trafford.
As a result, Inter is now considering other choices, and Calciomercato.com claim that one prime option is Van De Beek.
In 36 competitive games this season, starting only 15 of them, he scored only one goal and provided two assists.
He then ended his disappointing season with more bad news, being out of Euro 2020 due to injury.
Although other leagues do permit a player to continue playing with this implant, the Serie A standards are severe.
For this reason, Serie A authorities may not find him fit to play for Inter in the Italian top flight. And instead, they may bring in van de Beek from United on loan.
However, Manchester United will want at least €30 million for him.
And for van de Beek himself, to rebuild his confidence, he may prefer that Manchester United loan him out.
