Granit Xhaka, an Arsenal midfielder, has reportedly signed a new four-year contract with the club. So, from Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium camp, among other football transfer news, Xhaka has extended his contract with Arsenal.
Granit Xhaka was a player not many expected to remain long with Arsenal. This is because the 28-year-old swore and gestured to Arsenal fans in a match against Crystal Palace in October 2019. His reason was justifiable, because the crowds had been jeering him from the stands.
However, after this incident, he won Arteta’s trust and played 45 times across all competitions last season.
And thus far, Xhaka has recorded 13 goals and 20 assists in 221 games for Arsenal.
Football Transfer News – Xhaka Has Extended His Contract with Arsenal
Many fans expected former Borussia Monchengladbach man Granit Xhaka to leave the Emirates this summer.
But though he was planning a move to Roma, this transfer did not materialize. Instead, there came the football news that Arsenal had retained him till 2025.
Indeed, Jose Mourinho’s new Roma side refused to pay Arsenal’s asking price of £20 million.
So, Arsenal quickly shifted their focus to a new contract for Xhaka, who would become a free agent in 2023.
Now, according to football.london, Xhaka has committed his future to the Gunners until 2025.
He has thus successfully revival his Arsenal career following the arrival of Mikel Arteta and may continue to do so.
Meanwhile, his signing is said to have put an end to the Gunners’ interest in Manuel Locatelli and Ruben Neves.
