Real Madrid have officially made a formal bid of €160 million (viz. £137 million) for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe. After he wished for a football transfer there, in today’s breaking football transfer news, Real Madrid offered £137m for Mbappe.
Throughout the summer, speculation about the 22-year-old’s future have only grown in intensity.
These transfer rumours have erupted because talks with PSG over a new contract have yet failed to make significant progress.
Mbappe has now entered the final year of his current contract. This means that if he does not leave the French capital this summer, he will be able to negotiate terms for a free transfer away from the club in January.
However, PSG are keen to avoid losing the world’s second-most expensive player for nothing.
So, after seeing him reject their most recent contract offer as well, they are becoming more open to offers.
Football Transfer News – Real Madrid Offered £137m for Mbappe
Real Madrid, on the other hand, have long been fans of Kylian Mbappe, as he is of theirs.
From Santiago Bernaneu camp, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Real has now made an official bid of £137 million.
If such a deal comes to pass, the France international would command the third-highest transfer fee in football history.
He will come third only to two deals in football history. These include his own deal that brought him from Monaco to PSG and Neymar’s switch from Barcelona to PSG.
However, the football news immediately following this one is that PSG have quickly rejected that opening bid.
But all is not over yet because Real Madrid may now counter PSG’s move with a better second offer.
