However, Inter Milan rejected three of Chelsea’s offers for Romelu Lukaku, which forced the Belgian star to finally intervene.

He then asked his Italian Serie A defending winner club upfront to allow him to return to London, to Chelsea.

“With Chelsea’s third offer, I knew it was serious and I wasn’t there anymore,” Lukaku told Hln.be.

“I told Inzaghi: ‘Inter pulled me out of s… but I wanna leave only because of Chelsea.”

Romelu Lukaku joined the Nerazzurri for €75 million from Manchester United.

And during his two-year stint at Inter, Lukaku scored 64 goals in 95 games. And to show for his time in Milan, he also won one Serie A title, from the latest 2020-21 season.

On August 22, he scored his first goal, after his comeback, for Chelsea in a 2-0 win over Arsenal.
