Lorenzo Insigne has been with Napoli since 2009 but his contract will be in the near future.

The Italian international could leave the club after 12 years at Stadio San Paolo. This is because the negotiations over the renewal have stalled, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The two parties, Insigne and Napoli, are still struggling to reach an agreement over his contract extension.

What the two sides have reached an impasse over is Insigne’s high demands. While the club is offering 4.5 million euros per season, the Italian wants €7m (with add ons).

“I have a contract with the club, and even if it’s about to expire, I want to focus on the pitch. For the other situation, there’s my agent who talks to the President. It’s complicated,” Insigne told the press.
