Besiktas are in advanced talks to sign Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic. So, among other football transfer news, Besiktas may sign Pjanic, after Juventus decided not to, during the summer transfer window.
During the summer transfer window, Pjanic hoped for a return to Serie A, with a return to Juventus particularly interesting.
The Old Lady, however, decided against signing their former midfielder, who came to Barcelona on a swap deal (football transfer).
In 2020, Miralem Pjanic joined Barcelona from Juventus in a swap deal with Arthur Melo from the Catalan club.
Before the deadline, Pjanic stated that he wanted to return to Turin. But yet, he was unsure of a successful conclusion to negotiations between the two clubs.
And indeed, eventually, Juventus refused to re-sign him now because of Barcelona’s (forced) financial stringency right now.
In other words, Barca refused to pay a portion of his salary during his loan spell in Turin.
Football Transfer News – Besiktas May Sign Pjanic
Several reports claim that Besiktas is in advanced talks to sign former Juventus and Roma star Miralem Pjanic from Barcelona.
According to Sky Sport Italia’s Fabrizio Romano, the Turkish club’s representatives are negotiating personal terms with Pjanic himself.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international could thus join Besiktas on a temporary basis.
Pjanic also has an offer from Zenit St. Petersburg, according to Mundo Deportivo. But the 31-year-old would rather stay in Barcelona until January.
