Football Transfer News – Barcelona Want to Swap ter Stegen for Sterling

Manchester City and Barcelona might reportedly engage in a lucrative swap deal next January, meaning in the winter transfer window. City may accept Barcelona’s proposal to exchange Raheem Sterling, the Manchester City striker, and Mar-Andre ter Stegen, the Barcelona goalkeeper. So, after Manchester City lowered Raheem’s price tag in football transfer news, Barcelona want to swap ter Stegen for Sterling.

According to El Nacional, the Premier League reigning champions are open to January move for Raheem Sterling to Barça. They are willing to consider letting their striker go if Barcelona give them, in exchange for Sterling, Mar-Andre ter Stegen.

The football news we previously reported on was that the 26-year-old Englishman is eager to leave Manchester City in January. The reason behind his considering a move to Camp Nou may be the lack of playing time at Etihad Stadium.

Later transfer rumours hinted that even Pep Guardiola’s side, indeed the Manchester City head coach himself, approved of the move.

However, despite such avid interest in the striker from Barcelona, the club’s board has denied the talks over a possible transfer for their German goalkeeper Mar-Andre ter Stegen as part of a swap deal with Manchester City, with Raheem Sterling transferring in the reverse direction.

Nonetheless, the general expectation is that Barcelona might change their mind amid concerns for Sergio Aguero’s cardiac issues. The Argentine might retire from football exactly when the club desperately needs an efficient striker, is the overwhelming football prediction.
