Coronavirus cases are back on the rise in Europe, and this renewed COVID-19 surge is affecting the football world too.
In England, the COVID outbreak at the Tottenham Hotspur camp (the football news) led UEFA to postpone their Europa Conference League game. Though they were going to face against Rennes at home last week, and though Rennes players already travelled to England for said match, the delayed match will only take off now, very soon.
Beside UEFA, Premier League also postponed the Spurs’ football match at Brighton as part of the English top-flight.
Manchester United’s Premier League fixture at Brentford FC also witnessed a postponement for the same reason.

As for the situation with the virus within La Liga, on Monday, Spanish club Valencia’s home camp confirmed four cases. In fact, their head coach and two players were among those whom the deadly virus infected.
And now, a Real Madrid duo – namely, Luka Modric and Marcelo – have also returned positive PCR tests for COVID-19.
The pair will now miss Sunday’s league game against Cadiz. Modric last played a part in Real’s 2-0 derby win against Atletico on Sunday at Santiago Bernabeu.
