Juventus played out a disappointing, to manager Massimiliano Allegri at least (the football news), 1-1 draw with AC Milan. But this football match at their Turin home, at Allianz Stadium, was shameful for Juventus in more ways than one. We’ve discovered, after already, heavy-heartedly, reporting an incident of racism in football today, Juventus fans racially abused Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
During the warm-up for Sunday’s 1-1 draw, Juventus fans threw a slew of racial abuse at Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
The 26-year-old arrived ahead of the new season to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma. And he has done a good job of it, after conceding only two goals in four Serie A games so far.
Football Today – Juventus Fans Racially Abused Milan’s Goalkeeper
However, while Mike Maignan’s AC Milan were visiting Juventus for Serie A, Juve fans were filmed engaging in bigoted behaviour.
They were racially abusing the former LOSC Lille player while both the teams were warming up before the match. The Rossoneri goalkeeper became a target for racism as he was preparing for the big game at the Allianz Stadium.
Earlier this month, Lazio fans also allegedly racially abused AC Milan’s Tiemoue Bakayoko.
This incident prompted Milan to file a complaint with the federal prosecutor.
Now, after another such shameful experience, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are working to identify the people who are racially abusing the goalkeeper using the footage captured by the cameras.
