On Wednesday, AFC officially confirmed 22 of the 24 teams who will advance directly to their third round.

And India’s national team, the Blue Tigers, among these nominees for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers third round.

22 teams in total have qualified for the 24-team AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers Final Round, which now includes:

  • Three of the lowest ranked second-placed teams
  • All eight third and fourth-placed teams across Groups A to H
  • Three best fifth-placed teams

The remaining four participating teams, ranked 36 to 39, will compete in the AFC Asian Cup China 2023TM Qualifiers Play-offs.

These play-offs will go down in two legs, one on September 7 and the other on October 12, 2021.
