Harry Kane has not scored any goals for Euro 2020, but Luke Shaw is confident in the England captain.
Kane, as our football updates revealed before the European Championship commenced, wanted to win the tournament for England.
has gone without a shot on target in his last two England games in Group D the group stage.
Kane went scoreless in England’s 1-0 Group D opening Euro 2020 match against Croatia last week.
Then, he was off-mark again when the Three Lions played a 0-0 draw with Scotland on Friday in Euro 2020.
So, indeed, Kane’s now played two consecutive games without scoring for club or country for the first time since November.
This failure in itself proves his skills as a marksman and Shaw feels the England captain’s pedigree is beyond questioning.
Euro 2020 – Luke Shaw Is confident in the England captain
Luke Shaw has dubbed Harry Kane as “the best striker in the world”.
Shaw even claims that England are unconcerned by his teammate’s goalless start to Euro 2020.
“There’s no concern at all. Personally, I think he’s the best striker in the world,” Shaw said, according to Evening Standard.
He went on to praise his captain, the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner and three-time Premier League top scorer.
“He is a very important part of the team, in fact, the most important part,” Shaw stated. “I think whether he has not been at his best or not he is a massive part and a crucial player for us.”
“We need him whether his performances are as people expected or not, but this happens in tournament football,” he added.
“You can score a goal at any moment and he is such a crucial player – not just on the pitch but off the pitch. He has got all of our backings and I’m not worried at all.”
