Champions League Football Results – Liverpool Destroy Porto 1-5 Away

Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino both scored twice as Liverpool maintained their unbeaten record with a victory over FC Porto. Last night saw, in Group B of Champions League football results, Liverpool destroy Porto 1-5 away.

The Merseysiders had, just some hours earlier in the day, mourned the loss of one of their greatest ever marksmen. The late legend Roger Hunt died and Liverpool responded to his passing with a fittingly stylish performance in his honour.

So, after beating AC Milan in Group B, 3-2 at home (football scores), Liverpool proved themselves on the road too.

As a result, the Reds now lead the pool with six points. Atletico Madrid is second in this group with two points, whereas AC Milan and Porto each have one.

Now, on Tuesday, October 19, Liverpool will travel to Atletico Madrid, while FC Porto will host AC Milan.

Salah opened the scoring at the 18th minute after Diogo Costa failed to deal with Curtis Jones’ low left-footed shot.

On the stroke of halftime, Liverpool doubled their lead when Costa dallied in the face of James Milner’s low cross. And Sadio Mane gleefully tapped in at the back post.

Then, Salah scored his 30th Champions League goal with a clinical strike from Jones’ pass.

After this, 15 minutes later, the hosts slotted in their very first goal with a header from Mehdi Taremi.

Withing two minutes, however, substitute Firmino scored a quick-fire brace to cap off an emphatic night for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
