Ronald Koeman

Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman, who broke his silence over his contract extension yesterday (the football news), has spoken now.

The Dutchman told the press in a post-match interview, as Marca now reports: “There were only 3 strikers available.”

“Tactically there were moments in which we controlled the game,” he continued, however.

But then he said: “It is what it is in the moment. I cannot complain about the attitude, but there’s a difference in quality.

“We have many young players who in 2-3 years will be better. It is hard to accept but we have to wait for things to improve and players to recover from their injuries.

“The fans have been phenomenal because I think we have shown that they understand what was out there today.”

Julian Nagelsmann

New head coach Julian Nagelsmann is reveling in his Bayern’s smashing 0-3 victory against Barcelona away at Camp Nou.

Nagelsmann said in a post-match interview, as UEFA.com reports: “I think we played very well today, that was the key.

“We defended well. We had problems in the first seven or eight minutes, we weren’t brave enough, but then we made some adjustments.

“It’s always good to keep a clean sheet and when you do that with the attacking quality we have in this team, there’s a good chance you’ll win.”

Thomas Muller scored the opening goal of the match, and Robert Lewandowski followed with a brace in the second half.

And Nagelsmann said of the two: “I’m incredibly happy to have both Muller and Lewandowski in the team. I was excited to see how it would be to work with world stars.”
