Massimiliano Allegri will become Real Madrid’s new head coach after current manager Zinedine Zidane announced his decision to leave.
According to As, Real Madrid have been in intense negotiations over the last few hours with the former Juventus coach.
Allegri, who hasn’t accepted another coaching offer since the Old Lady fired him, was also awaiting an offer from Madrid.
As such, Juventus and Inter were also very interested in Allegri’s services. In fact, reports confirmed it as a surety that Juventus would sack Andrea Pirlo and bring back Allegri next season.
So, at the time when Zidane confirmed leaving Real Madrid, the club did not know what Allegri’s future plans were.
Now, however, As say that Allegri will become Real Madrid’s new head coach after current manager.
The Madrid club will soon send a formal offer to the Italian coach.
It is even known that Allegri will not be bringing a large staff to Real Madrid. There are reportedly only 3-4 coaches coming with him.
Real Always Longed for Allegri
Allegri has always been Real Madrid’s priority option. However, out of respect for Zidane, the club did not begin talks with the 53-year-old coach until just now.
This is why, hours after news broke about the Frenchman making his final decision to leave, Real have Allegri already.
Meanwhile, the option of appointing Antonio Conte, who left Inter yesterday, to Real Madrid looks unlikely at the moment.
It would be possible if Madrid’s negotiations with Allegri fail. Now, to the contrary, Juventus have missed out on their ex-coach because Real Madrid got him first.
Real Madrid have also seriously considered appointing Raúl González Blanco, known simply as Raúl, as head coach.
However, the Spaniard has made it clear that he would like to continue coaching Real Madrid Castilla.
Still, the current Castilla manager knows he is Madrid’s backup in case something goes wrong with Allegri.
