Sergio Aguero cannot, rather upsettingly, play alongside his old friend Lionel Messi, who left Barcelona just as he joined it. So, Catalonia newcomer Aguero may request a football transfer from Barcelona to MLS that is, Major League Soccer in United States.
Barcelona is in disarray as a result of Lionel Messi’s departure. The Argentine wanted to stay at Camp Nou and had even accepted a 50% pay cut to remain loyal.
After all, he wanted to end his career at the club with whom he started it, 21 years ago.
But Barcelona’s financial situation became so dire that they couldn’t even register him, regardless of any pay cuts.
Now, Messi has joined a star-studded squad at Paris Saint-Germain, where he will play alongside his former rival. Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has also moved to PSG, where Messi’s close friend Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe, also play.
Aguero May Request a Football Transfer from Barcelona to MLS
Meanwhile, fellow Argentine Sergio Aguero joined Barcelona on a free transfer (the football news) from Manchester City earlier this summer.
Indeed, in related football transfer news, he even accepted to move to Barca for half his salary at Manchester City.
The 33-year-old is actually Manchester City’s all-time leading scorer, because he scored 260 goals across 390 appearances at Etihad Stadium.
He came over to City, back in the day, from Atletico Madrid, where he scored 100 goals in 230 games.
His first goal for Barcelona, however, is still a distant dream, with the striker seemingly on the sidelines until November.
Besides injury problems, though, Aguero has already expressed his desire to leave Barcelona, because he is furious about Messi leaving.
He’s even asked his lawyers to find a loophole in his Barcelona contract that allows him to leave. This may be plausible if he’s never played for the club, which could be the real reason behind his absence.
And now, Sergio Aguero is considering a mid-season move to MLS in America, across the Atlantic.
Phil Kitromilides hinted about this on Monday morning’s Spanish Football Podcast, which he co-hosts with Sid Lowe. According to Kitromilides, sources close to Barcelona had told him the shocking news.
