Gambia have now thus climbed to the very top of the Group F standings to reach Mali there. Mali and currently joint-leaders with Gambia because they too edged past Tunisia 1-0 in Limbe. This was in an earlier Group F fixture on Wednesday, in what was a thoroughly controversy-filled encounter.

Gambia’s Ablie Jallow scored early as they played their debut football match at the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
