FC Utrecht have acquired the services of French defender Modibo Sagnan on a loan deal from Real Sociedad. The deal also includes an option to make the transfer a permanent deal. The duration of the contract is for a season.
The Utrechters announced: “The club from the Domstad rents Modibo Sagnan. The 23-year-old defender comes over from Real Sociedad and this season plays for the Utrecht FC, which has also negotiated an option to buy the ex-youth international. If it is lifted, Sagnan will be stuck in the cathedral city until mid-2026.
“Sagnan will join the training camp in Zeeland later today.”
La Real confirmed the same, “Real Sociedad and FC Utrecht have reached an agreement for the loan of Modibo Sagnan to the Dutch team until the end of the 22-23 season. Utrecht has a purchase option on the player. Zorte on, Modibo!”
“Modibo is a left-footed central defender, who has good speed”, said Technical Director Jordy Zuidam of FC Utrecht typifies the French acquisition. “He has power and dueling power and can be relentless in the personal duels. Modibo has a good pass and likes to look for the footballing solution in the build-up. Although he is still relatively young, he has already gained considerable experience at the highest level in Spain and Portugal. Modibo is a top professional.”
