Fabio Silva signs a new one-year contract with Wolves before being loaned out to RSC Anderlecht. The loan duration would be one season long.
Wolves announced: “Forward Fabio Silva has signed a new one-year contract with Wolves ahead of completing a season-long loan move to RSC Anderlecht.”
The Belgian club confirmed the transfer: “Fabio Silva will play at the Lotto Park this season. The striker, who is celebrating his 20th birthday this Tuesday, is joining our club on loan for one season from England’s Wolverhampton Wanderers.”
RSC Anderlecht’s CEO Peter Verbeke announced: “Fábio is known as one of the most talented strikers. Of his generation in Europe. He combines physical intensity and grinta with scoring ability. Although he has only just turned 20, he already has 2 years of experience in the Premier League. Fábio’s arrival is important because we have a lot of games to play in a short space of time. And because we want to compete on all three fronts.”
Technical director of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Scott Sellars said: “We’ve had lots of discussions between myself and Bruno, and with Fabio as well, about what we feel is best for his development, and we felt that a season playing regularly would be very good for him at this point in his career.
“He’s only just turned 20 today, so he’s still a very young boy. And he needs a season of playing regular senior football. In a competitive league so he can come back to Wolves stronger.
“We saw with the performances of Morgan [Gibbs-White] last year how much of a positive impact a loan can have on a young player, so we believe it’s the right step in his development to follow the same path.”
