Frank de Boer claims that he inherited a team from the Netherlands that is even better than the one that had made the final of the World Cup a decade before.
“Maybe this selection is even more talented than the 2010 one,” De Boer told reporters.
He added, “In that squad, I see similarities. Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben were in fantastic condition, we had Rafael van der Vaart and it was still good with the block defensively-Mark van Bommel [and] Nigel de Jong. Very powerful, and so is the new selection. There is a lot of potential, especially in terms of width.”
De Boer made 112 appearances for his country and, at the outset of his coaching career, won four consecutive Eredivisie titles with Ajax.
