Daniel Scherning has been appointed as the new head coach of Arminia Bielefeld

Daniel Scherning has been appointed as the new head coach of Arminia Bielefeld. The club announced: “Daniel Scherning is the new head coach of DSC Arminia Bielefeld. The 38-year-old football teacher is moving from third division club VfL Osnabrück to Bielefeld with immediate effect. Scherning will be on the training ground on Friedrich-Hagemann-Strasse for the first time with his new team on Thursday and will be on the coaching bench for the away game in Heidenheim next Sunday, August 21 (1:30 p.m.).”

“Daniel Scherning has our full confidence in being able to turn the tide and stabilize our team. His previous work as head coach and his career with many years of Arminia in the past give us the conviction to solve the upcoming tasks. I would like to thank VfL Osnabrück for the trusting talks and ultimately the approval for Daniel Scherning’s move to us,” explains sporting director Samir Arabi. “In our situation, I expect everyone to subordinate everything to team spirit in order to be successful together. As head coach, Daniel Scherning has a special importance in leading the team and the coaching staff.”

“I’m coming back to Bielefeld with great confidence and a lot of enthusiasm for this challenge. There have been numerous contacts with DSC Arminia and the city in recent years. I thank VfL Osnabrück for the release at this point and wish my old one team and everyone responsible for the best possible success in the 3rd division,” says Daniel Scherning. “I’ve always really enjoyed being at Arminia. Now we’ve come full circle, so to speak. And from today we’ll tackle and work hard to be successful with Arminia. I know it’s a big task, but I’m going through it with conviction, courage and passion.”
