In the last match of the 27th round of the German Bundesliga, Cologne and Fortuna Düsseldorf played 2-2, after the host (Cologne) scored two goals in the last five minutes of the match.
The guests took the lead in the 41st minute with a goal by Kenan Karaman, assisted by Steven Skrzybski.
Cologne could have equalized in the 58th minute, but Marc Uth failed to score a penalty. His shot came in from the right-hand side but Florian Kastenmeier managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction.
Just three minutes later, Erik Thommy scored for 2-0 on another assist from Skrzybski, bringing the guests closer to important points in the fight for first-league salvation.
Fortuna thus had a convincing lead until the 88th minute and were one step away from their first victory in Cologne after 1989. However, the host scored in the 88th and 90+1 minutes and drew a point.
Cologne managed to equalize in a crazy finish. First, Anthony Modeste reduced the lead to 1-2 in the 88th minute, and three minutes later Jhon Cordoba equalized to 2-2. Dominick Drexler assisted on both goals.
