According to local media, Bayern Munich is offering to throw in Lucas Hernandez in an effort to tie up a £100 million contract for Leroy Sane with Manchester City.
For about a year, the Germans were struggling to acquire ex-Schalke attacker Sane. Last season, Munich even came close to a settlement, just for the Germany international to receive a long-term injury in the last Community Shield.
And now the Bavarians are giving Hernandez, 24, as a bonus attraction, according to SportWitness.
About a year ago Hernandez left Atletico Madrid for £72 m. The Frenchman can play at left-back or centre-half and this will be important to City manager Pep Guardiola, who wants protection in any of those places.
Having just a year remaining on Sane’s contract, he is threatened by city bosses to play out this season and then move on a free transfer.
However, Sane has made it known that he needs to move back to Germany.
As such, Munich is expected to close the agreement in July.
